If only .... Apparently there was one in Scotland in 2016. Pricey but would love this. Anybody been to one or used the cash to buy a guitar instead? Lol

  • Found the price. Didn't think it would be cheap. Wonder why they chose Iceland? From what folks tell me it's extremely expensive anyway.

The December one fits right in with my birthday! lol.
I wont be going but they do seem a nice idea to combine your hobby and a getaway at the same time. And I am sure there are still some lovely places to see in parts of the UK once you leave the hustle and bustle of our towns and cities. I do think everybody needs their space as even though we might share a love of guitars and music we all have different personalities and sometimes the chemistry just doesnt blend. Thats humans though.

Not my thing at all but Iceland sounds nice and you get a tour, a performance, and lots of guitar tips so not all that expensive really.

  • I somehow found myself on the Richard Thompson mailing list, and he runs a thing in upstate New York called Frets and Refrains, in the countryside, that is a week long songwriting and acoustic playing masterclass.

Last time I looked, it was just shy of £2,000 for a week in a tent. And yes, he does give classes himself, as well as at least one performance.

I think they were back this summer after the obviously pandemic enforced break.

I couldnt imagine many things worse than a week in a tent.....except maybe a week in a caravan!
