Got to say I think I'll be going for one of thee if they take pedals well. I love valve amps but always slightly worried about something going wrong in a gig.

Just watched the Anderson's vid all the way to the end and I'm even more convinced that I'd like one.

Still haven't made my mind up about a delay pedal but top of the list is currently a Vox Delaylab.

  • The 80w is the version I'm thinking of albeit possibly another £200+More for the luxury of a tremolo and fx loop. But I know I will eventually want it if I got the 60w. Clever marketing eh? ;)

Specs say: Channel, dual tone, trem and loop are switchable.

That's a shame as if they had boost I could take just an amp for a gig and maybe stow a delay in the back of the amp.

  • LOL there's always something we want hence why there's a massive market out there still. Us guitarists are never happy are we :) It's like polishing a turd LOL

Yeah but not having a foot switchable boost is mentally stupid..

  • It doesn't? If so I totally agree :(

  • I've just checked with Roland and the foot switch controller will operate the boost function on the amp apparently. You have to select the manual switch to be able to do that. So that's a relief then ;)

Seeing as it's not a modelling amp (no COSM etc) and they're so keen to advertise it as sounding/responding like a valve amp, it's a shame they couldn't have made it look a bit more like a valve amp. It still has the look of a plastic, no name/re-branded, Chinese knock-off. I think the Tech 21 Trademarks, with the metal chassis, pilot light and metal on/off switch etc, looks classier and mimics the look of a valve amp a bit better.
I'm sure they have their reasons, but if one of them was to potentially tempt/lure valve amp players, a little more detail might have helped. Maybe i'm wrong, but i'd like to know who they're aiming this at and what their market research said. It's clear they tried to give it an old/valve/blues amp look, otherwise they would have just made it in black slapped a big metal grill on the front.

    Yay that's ace.

They could do with putting that in their blurb as it gives the impression that you can't
Do you need the fancy big footswitch to do it?
