Me and @freakboy1610 were at the garage last night and Philip Sayce was incredible. Absolutely incredible!

A masterclass in guitar playing and as someone earlier suggested, it was as close to seeing SRV as you could get today. 

Absolutely beautiful tone as well. The best I’ve ever heard a strat sound. His univibe sound was hypnotic. 

And he didn’t the quiet volume thing too. The room went to a whisper and then so powerful when it kicked back in. 

Fantastic night out. Probably the best gig I’ve been to for pure guitar playing.

Agreed @handsomerik best gig I've been to this year. Sounded amazing! My ears are still ringing! 

I'm intrigued by his together thing though made the mistake of going to www.together.com to find a dating website bahaha.

I was there too. Plenty of comments I could make, but the biggest surprise of the evening was when he pulled out a PRS (presumably a silver sky)

Yes he's been using a couple of them for a while alongside his vintage Fenders and a green SVL. Best advert for them (Silver Skys) IMO, I was nearly tempted...

Gutted I couldn't make the Bristol gig due to work :-(    Hopefully he'll come back to the UK before long. Looking forward to his new album in Feb.

Inspired by last night I just spent half an hour with a univibe on playing the little bit of Sayce things that I can manage.

The way that guitar sound totally filled the room was incredible.

I googled it and there is a fair amount of coverage about it. At the gig it looked like he had to play it for a specific song.

 I once saw an interview with PRS himself where he said something along the lines of Fender had inbuilt advantage as 2 of the most venerated guitarists ever had played strats (he was referring to Hendrix and SRV). I would imagine if he could get Philip Sayce to switch over completely to playing PRS guitars that would be quite a coup.
