  • Looks like like 2002 Jordan... I preferred the Black testing livery, but at the same time it's very nice to have yellow back!

    This.

I reckon Ferrari will be closer this year but that'll mean Vettel scraps with the 2nd placed Merc, which I just can't see being Rosberg, radio ban or no radio ban.

You think Rosberg will beat Hamilton on pure merit?

lol, no. Got my Merc boys mixed up. Meant to say I can't Hamilton being the second placed Merc.

Rosberg hasn't actually got the better of him in a straight same-tyre, fully-working-car fight, has he?

I think it's probably more interesting to ask who will be the slowest team?

Manor - current titleholder, Merc-engined shitbox.
    McLaren - upgraded-but-still-Honda-shitbox
Renault - old, established shitbox with shitboxier engine than last year
Sauber. No money so mostly using last year's shitbox.
Haas - shiny and new, all-Americky unknown. Great potential-to-be-a-shitbox...

Not watching it this year. Putting money where my mouth is.

I think Rosberg will struggle as both Hamilton and Vettel are risk taking racers. I'm yet to see Rosberg make an aggressive overtake stick on his team mate .. Ferrari were the faster of the two teams in winter testing and tended to be quick last year in race trim. It would be good to see Hamilton and Vettel wheel-to-wheel.

Red Bull and Aston Martin team up. New road car planned and Red Bull will have Aston Martin logos of their F1 cars ...

So the Fizzy Drinks Company  have a partnership with Aston Martin who are part-owned by Mercedes Benz while running F1 cars with engines branded by a watchmaker that are really Renaults?

I think someone missed the "Simplicity in Branding 101" class...

Mercedes only owns 5% of Aston Martin and supply's Aston with an engine which Aston's engineers then tweaks for it's road cars. I wonder if Aston Martin are about to enter F1.

There was talk last season of them buying into Force India so it might happen. They're obviously looking at motorsport in a serious way, and WEC must need some serious backing these days - I doubt it's much cheaper than F1, so if they could get AM-branded Merc engines for cheap... Maybe they'd buy Toro Rosso if the RB thing goes well?

Speed in Winter testing generally means very little, reliability does and so far the Merc clocked up a lot more miles
