    Haas reveal!

It's like a poor-man's JPS Lotus. The gold will be impossible to read on TV, though since Rich Energy is likely at best a ponzi scheme and/or money laundering operation, I'm probably ok with it. Not sure why shiny silver wheels and not black or gold???

Good to have something vaguely-badass-looking on the grid again...

I likes it but you're right about the wheels!

My head said brake, but my heart cried never.

I wish it would come back to terrestrial, but Sky have so much financial muscle I can't see it happening.

Last year I saw an article that suggested Sky sometimes only gets 300K people watching in the UK, even for European races when the time zones are more convenient.

They are never going to grow new fans if there's only 300K middle aged petrol heads watching it.
Fuck terrestrial - the quality of the coverage increased exponentially on Sky
The coverage may have improved But the races didn’t !

I quite like that new Haas livery. The wheels look "shadow chrome" in a couple of the pictures, although agree would be better gold.
Shot through the heart, and you’re to blame, you give love a bad name. Not to mention archery tuition.

I think the Haas livery looks great, although I’ll be amazed if they get through the season without the relationship with Rich Energy dissolving into bitter acrimony over non-payment of sponsorship.

  • It's so nice to see Rich Energy finally on something in F1. The Autosport story is hilarious:

    https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/141369/doubting-haas-backer-like-denying-moon-landings

So exclusive that you can only buy it from this tiny specialist retailer

And blimey it must be above board if Davids Gold and Sullivan are backing it.

  • McLaren have British American Tobacco as a new partner. Them of BAR fame, who make tobacco, the advertising of which is banned.

Apparently they're focusing "on BAT's potentially reduced risk products...". Presumably some e-cig/vape stuff, with the "potentially" neatly inserted because they know damn well that shit is just as gross as regular cigarettes but the law hasn't caught up yet.

Utterly bizarre. Still better than Rich Energy, I guess??

Well, at least BAT should be good for actually coming up with sponsorship payments.  The ‘potentially reduced risk products’ will indeed be their e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products, as their traditional cigarette market is in decline and advertising cigarettes is pretty much banned anyway.

In other news, Williams have announced their title sponsor as ‘Rokit’; apparently a phone company that equals Rich Energy as ‘company I’ve literally never heard of’.

They could be sponsored by Hello Kitty or the NRA for all I care - as long as the car actually works this year...
    Red ones are better.

Decidedly new company. Doesn't have it's own PR/media department yet hence M&C Saatchi handling media for them. Been a few advertorials in British newspapers over the last week about their stuff.

  • New Renault. Well, so far it's the old Renault with a 2019-ish front wing, mildly different livery and DannyRic's number on the side :D

    Dat rake tho...

It should be yellow ... the Honey Badger deserves a yellow car ... unimpressed .. :-)

  • Yeah, i'm liking the really big number on the side too. Too many of them have it way too small or in stupid fonts and/or colours

Tomorrow should be Merc, RB, and Racing Point. Hoping for some white in the RB-Honda. There's been some great renderings going around the forums

I look forward to seeing the Red Bull looking great as it goes up in smoke at the side of the track.....

It'll be very interesting to see who wins between Newey's packaging and Honda's heat output, and how long we have to wait before Horner starts bitching about Honda's reliability...

Hahaha, definitely Mike I don't think it will take long..... for a man of the highest intelligence, you'd think Newey would compromise slightly on the packaging for more points on reliability.

A shame Toyota aren't in F1. There's a great video on YouTube of a car collaboration between BMW and Toyota. They created the BMW Z4 and the new Toyota Supra. I know which one I'd buy ... Toyota engineers stunned the Germans with their testing and attention to reliability which went down to nut, bolt and rivet level. And the Supra is a not a BMW with a Toyota badge.

Only watch if you're a car nut ....
