ffs this is my dream amp
One of the best Marshall inspired amps I have ever tried, I am questioning my life right now as I got a Carr Mercury V which is great but now I'm doubting!
Hmmm... it's good, but my Merc V was better...

Shame you cant footswitch between the modes.
A good germ treble boost works well for a bit of that.

Each to their own, but the Mercury always left me underwhelmed and I like Carr amps.
The Royalist has a lot more flexibility and I think it absolutely roars

  • Doug at Coda let me borrow one to make some content… but I think it’ll be staying with me now!

Really usable features and sounds great! Made a video (above) and half way through making it decided I wouldn’t want to send it back

Mine arrived today (combo). First impressions are: a) it’s heavy; b) it sounds fantastic. The wife/kids are out tomorrow so I’ll get to have a proper play.

I had a 15 watter of the original which I’m sure passed through @fretfinder’s hands.
Best Marshall style I’ve ever played.
Might have to be doing a NAD this week
I did indeed have the old 15 watt version and it was a great sounding amp, although rather oversized and plug-ugly imo. It was also only just loud enough to gig unmiced with my band at the time, it struggled occasionally.

The new version weighs 59lbs for a 1x12 combo, that’s crazy.

I have an ‘83 800, Bogner Helios 50, Gower modded ‘83 and a Friedman BE100 DLX. Do I need this too?!

Pity there’s no option to blend the channels as you would with a Marshall- otherwise looks excellent

If I didn’t already have the best amp I’ve ever had I might be all over that.

I’m still loving mine. I haven’t played it outside the house though so can’t speak about gig volumes, but at home it’s been great.

Tough one.  My Bogner XTC 20th.  Of those, probably the Gower.
