  • Comping....comping.... thats cheating.   Ctrl+Z, Ctrl+R like a real guitarist
So you've never recorded drums then?

  • The swipe comping alone looks great, that's my only real gripe with Reaper currently

The Linux build of v.7.001 is a little flaky for me at the moment.
V.6.xxx has been fine all the way through so hopefully it's just a blip.

I've only just noticed that my Reaper theme was still set on 'Default_6.0'.

Changing it to 'Default' gives the new Reaper 7 theme, which I quite like. Well it's the only obvious change I've spotted so far

Ooh good tip I had the same thing.   Very fancy new look now.

Try 7.01 and keep your eye on future updates, as they will fix stuff as it gets reported by users.

I still use the last Reaper v4 release. Never felt like I'm missing any functionality. Performance is fine etc. I should really check out more recent versions some time.
    Me too!

I'm a complete troglodyte in recording terms and the only feature I've seen in subsequent versions that I like is the VST3 capability, but I can still live without that.

At the moment I'm running on an ancient PC that I desperately need to replace but find that job utterly overwhelming.

Fuuuuck. They finally made the comps better in the PT way. Worth upgrading for this alone.

I haven't tried it out yet but I haven't seen a vid with how this works for grouped tracks....is it as you would expect?

Reaper 7.02 now available. These are bug fixes, not new features.

Nothing fancy at the moment, I'm just using them as a virtual patch bay. I've got a some complementary plugins setup inside that are already gain staged and ready to go. It's really easy to change containers with one click to try something different, and it keeps the track layout neat and tidy.

Have you tried them? If so, what are you doing with them?
