I'm loving this strat variant.

Sure, lots of you will probably hate it, but this guitar certainly ticks my boxes!

It's a Stratospheric Loft HSS by Paoletti guitars. I would but that guitar in a shot if I had the funds!

I think there was one in the classifieds quite recently?  Certainly @imalrightjack had one.  But not with a Floyd, I don't think.

@Philly_Q I had a Paoletti but much uglier. Sounded great but huge and odd neck.

Huge neck?  I'd assumed they would be skinny.  Now suddenly I'm interested...

  • I could live with it, it’s not the prettiest but the stars and Floyd make up for it

Sorry, but the stars are right up there with PRS bird inlays when it comes to reasons not to buy.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

It just screams reliced, or refinished Richie Sambora signature Strrat  to me.  The off-white with maple board and stars inlay was/is the most common variation, but they are available in other colours, like sunburst - can't remember if it was 2 or three 3 tone personally I've never been able to tell the difference, even black with silver paisley, with a rosewood board, and all of them where available with either stars or dots inlays, and this wasn't just year dependent, some years you could actually pick between stars or dot inlays.

Don't get me wrong, it's a nice guitar, but I'd rather buy the real thing - I have a soft spot for the RS signature Strat as it was my very first Fender, and have it reficed or refinished, it would probably work out cheaper too.

I'd prefer to think it was optional.

It's so nice there are tastes out there for everything. Even star inlays.

One thing that I'm not so keen on are the brass rims/flanges from 12-bore shotgun cartridge casings that are used for the knobs.  They are possibly just decorative facsimiles of the real thing, but I don't like firearms.

  • I don’t like the curve where the pickguard is cut across. It doesn’t quite flow with the rest of the guard - it either needs more defined “corners” or none at all.

Otherwise I’m not against it. Though you could build one for a chunk less money..

I don't think I've ever seen a Paoletti that I wouldn't be happy to put on the fire, to keep me warm.

For a standard Strat shaped guitar they seem to have a knack for making them look particularly shit.

    (Apologies to the Paoletti owners!)

I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to
