Dremel Router bits for binding

I have a dremel, I also now have the dremel router thingamajig to attach the dremel to, what router bits or bit will I need to cut a binding channel on a tele body or neck? I’m assuming I need something that has a bearing attachment to keep the guide flush but am lost at the minute! Appreciate opinion will be split on this method but I’m a patient twat so am happy to plod using it even if it takes a whole day to do, the likelihood of me doing more than one or two a year is negligible so splurging on something more substantial won’t happen.

the stew-mac dremel attachment does not need a specialist router bit with bearings

bearing router sets are usually for larger routers, and work very well on flat top guitars, but struggle with carves

That won't work without some kind of edge guide underneath.... I know you can get one that fits the dremel bases sold by the likes of stew-mac, not sure dremel do one, bit you might be able to rig something up

What am I looking at there mate, in relation to what is missing off the Dremel router bit I have? If be not even opened the box yet so may just return it if it’s useless for what I want!!!!

It's a precision router base sold by the likes of stew-mac.  The brass bit underneath is an add on that acts as an edge guide so you can do binding on flat top instruments.  

The one Steve has available works well, but pay attention to the way its held in the pictures.   It takes a bit of practice so try on scrap first.  I have one too, it's particularly useful for areas other jigs don't reach, but it is my least used binding tool.

I also have a large binding jig that makes it a very easy job, but I've done it with most other methods before that, including a manual purfling cutter and chisel.

That looks like a neat alternative, particularly for carved top guitars.

If @lamf68 decides against it for any reason, please let me know.
