Not sure if there's been a thread on this before, but I just wrote a song where the chords don't change between the verse and chorus, and it got me thinking about how many great songs are out there that do this. The best ones don't sound samey because the melodies of each section are so strong and distinct.
I'm sure there are loads, but I immediately thought of:
Free Falling - Tom Petty
The Passenger - Iggy Pop
Transmission and Love Will Tear Us Apart - Joy Division
Any other good examples you can think of?
Some of the gear, some idea

edit: chords are same for Verse and Chorus but there is a bridge in between so probably doesn’t qualify
Supportact said: [my style is] probably more an accumulation of limitations and bad habits than a 'style'.
As for "when am I ready?" You'll never be ready. It works in reverse, you become ready by doing it. - pmbomb
Songs need the dynamic shift of some kind of change between the verses and chorus.

Nothing wrong with it in my opinion as long as the song is good.
Imagine being Toploader. The only song you're known for is a cover, and you probably earned sod all from it.

Led Zep The Bridge comes to mind as well.
Joe definitely made a couple of million from that cover, I know it funded him for at least a decade. A shared acquaintance told me once that the record company rang him up to apologise as they had somehow omitted half a million in royalties and were worried that he’d noticed (Joe hadn’t). Goes to show that a track on a few TV shows, couple of adverts and repeat elevator play can make for quite a nice payday.
