(Resolved now) Beaches in Cyprus ?

I'm torn between Chania in Crete or Cyprus for my 60th.  I prefer the beaches in Crete but in late April, I'm not sure it's going to be warm enough, whereas Cyprus has the edge on temperature.

I'm after a shallow, calm, sandy beach.  Can't be doing with rocks and seaweed.
Also, can't stand wind - hence I'm not considering the Canaries or Cape Verde.

Any suggestions for resorts that might fill that brief ?

Also.... anyone been to Crete in late April ? - and was it warm enough ?

April looks like a good time to go to Crete before the fires start again this year.
It should be nice and warm but not oven hot.
Greek Easter’s are fun celebrations .

Protaras Cyprus Sunny Beach hotel or for a 5 star its sister hotel The Pearl  which is next door. Nice sandy beach just in front of the hotel. The sun loungers are assigned (you can pick) so none of that towels on the loungers at 6am nonsense.

The strip is about 50 yards in the other direction, with plenty of decent restaurants and bars.

Might want to give Turkey some consideration if you like the whole Mediterranean/Aegean thing, assuming there are no additional geopolitical concerns.

It’s a bit volatile there at the moment what with the Gaza situation. There are safe areas but you’d need to look at the UK foreign office website first to check.

I have followed Walk With Me Tim on YouTube for quite a while, he just used to walk around crap British seaside resorts but now goes all over the world making videos. Anyway, his latest made me think ooh that’d be just the holiday for Emp Fab, perhaps next year…
