February is really "work a couple of days less than usual but get paid as normal" month.

It just depends if your glass is half full or half empty.

(If you are an engineer, then the glass actually has a factor of safety of 2)

I don't have to work on Feb 29 for 3 years out of 4. Sounds like a win to me.

Salaries are based on a yearly amount (divided into 12 even payments). This year there’s more days to work in this year, so it’s either less income per day or work the day for free.

You could just as easily say that over 4 years they are divided into 48 equal amounts...

It depends upon if you want to look at it positively or negatively

I started with my company in a leap year. I worked 365 days for my pay. The next year I got a pay rise and worked one day less for it.... I had one over on them... Suckers!

  • Since I get paid on the last day of the month, but our wages system can't handle leap years very well, for me it's 'welcome to paid a few days earlier than you would be normally day'. It's also my last day of shift today too, so then I'm off for three days.

    I make it 0.55% for me, as I do a four-day week.

Working for myself, I think we should have more extra days so I can both catch up and make more money.
