Reverb Scams

Everything I list now, within minutes I get a full price offer with 'email me on xxxxxxx'. When did this become a thing?

Late last year for me, before that it was fine. Every item listed must get a few offers like that now. Reverb don’t seem to do anything about it either, which is annoying.

if you email me on officialreverbsupportgenuine@legitimatemail3.com with your reverb account, your bank account number and sort code, your passport number, your mother's maiden name, a scan of a recent electricity bill, your blood type and your full uk address and post code I'll be able to fill you in on the details

Yup, so many offers on my recent listing, all with the same email address to contact them on:

ecakarel01@gmail.com

I send a polite message telling them to fuck off.

Update. Just had a similar offer from username sausage Danica. Her email is katieparkinson

Happened to me. Report it to reverb and they should ban the sender immediately.

I think most reverb is a scam cos it never sounds as good as me singing in the shower...

Just watched an interesting vid on YT called The "Reverb Scam" Gets Scarier. Looks like guitar buyers are fertile hunting grounds for scammers. I'd never buy a guitar from anything other than an established dealer nowadays. A shame it's come to this but...

i am not sure its just reverb. FB is a bloody nightmare right now.

High value items like musical instruments, bikes etc. have always been a fertile ground for scammers and the method mentioned on TY is nothing new. If you apply a bit a due diligence and common sense you'll should be able to spot most scams straight away.

i get this on facebook market place. Im guessing its automatic as the template messages seem to come within seconds of listing.
