I saw the other day that the great TV series Bergerac is being remade:

Another of my favourite guitar-based theme tunes of yore is Seaview:

That had two versions of the theme, a slow one at the beginning of the programme, and a "punk-rock" version at the end (both on the Youtube link).

Can anyone think of any more good guitar-based TV themes? I'm feeling all nostalgic of a Sunday morning.

Pot Black was a Joplin-style rag.  Drag Racer is (was) the BBC snooker theme.

Surely this is the finest of them all? Clearly a band in the room, violining at the start, windmills and a wah!

There is very little guitar in the Miami Vice theme tune. Jan Hammer loved making his synths sound like they were guitars and for the era he was pretty good at it - but it is probably 98% synthesizer. I think there might be some guitar power chords later on in the tune, but that’s about it. 

OP I’ll add “Beavis & Butthead” to the list.
