Names for kittens. Suggestions please.

What's Hot
fretmeisterfretmeister Frets: 24753
My wife and children have informed me that we are getting 2 kittens.

The arguments have already started about names. My view is that they need to be called Jake and Ellwood and if not then I won't feed them!

But if anyone else has any good names that are linked in some way then please let me know.

Doesn't have to be music related.

Any ideas that won't make me feel like a complete tool if I'm shouting their names in the street?

We are looking after my sister in law's cat at the moment, indefinitely. What I would say I've learnt from this experience is that it doesn't matter in the slightest what you call them, they won't respond to it

Just call them the same names as your kids.  Will save so much memory power.

    Skin and Dred :)

We had Oscar (wife named him) and Dolly (named after Doyle "Texas Dolly" Brunson, the poker player).

Now we have Lola (youngest named her) and Teddie (named after Tatty Ted off the birthday cards, as he always looks a bit bedraggled).

Some people tend to go with 'pet' names i.e. nothing you'd likely name a human. I personally prefer human names, as they are members of the family.

I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to

We considered Bigsby or Floyd as options for our first one, but settled on Max. We then added Monty and Pickle, and recently Milo at the beginning of this year.

Monty was the best cat in the world - highly recommended for good vibes in that name

My personal favourite that I still want at some point is Jezebel, just so I can stand at the door shouting that of an evening. However, as there are two incoming it seems only right that you go grossly inappropriate and call them Debbie and Dallas. ;)

I call the one we are looking after all manner of things and as long as I say them in a nice tone and tuneful voice, she seems happy enough. Her official name is Lexi, but she gets called variously stuff like Skrillex, Cat Features, Sosig, Little Sh!t, Poo Face, Catty McCat (next door's cat is Scabby McScab), Catniss Everdeen, Scratchy McBastid (in my broadest scottish accent), or just Cat sometimes. She will respond if she chooses to, no matter what I've called her, so I've taken to using silly or offensive names for her as a coping mechanism.

(FYI i do look after her nicely, plenty of food, water, let her out and back in etc, I know it doesn't sound like I do but I do)

EDIT: PS - giving them a human name (or in my case, when I call her Cat) also means when you leave the house, you can shout "See you later Cat" and it sounds like there's somebody in which I like to pretend makes people less likely to burgle me
