Yeah like Joe would want a stupidly priced Tele!

Demonstrate your solidarity with Joe's anti-capitalist stance by blowing $20k.
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

Nothing says “punk rock” like a custom shop masterbuilt collectors edition

As a huge Clash/Joe Strummer fan I'd like to say that's one of the least 'Joe' things I've ever seen. He'd be turning in his grave.
Sick and exploitative to the man's memory.

Artists get a cut from every signature model right? Who gets the cut from something like this where the artist is deceased?

Idiotic decision from all involved. Just because you can it doesn't mean you should.

These stupidly priced Strummer guitars are some of the most bizarre signature ties-in for any product I've ever seen.

    As punk as a satsuma.

Almost as bad as the sig Tom Morello guitar with repro stickers for your corporate sponsored rebellion

If they'd released a super cheap version to get guitars in the hands of budding young rebels I'd say it was a huge PR win, but this is just ghastly.
My Trade Feedback Thread is here

Been uploading old tracks I recorded ages ago and hopefully some new noodles here.

Maybe, just maybe, they should have listened to a few of his lyrics...

"And every gimmick hungry yob digging gold from rock and roll
Grabs the mic to tell us he'll die before he's old
But I believe in this and it's been tested by research
He who f**** nuns will later join the church"

I dunno, I could just about see him taking money from Stupid Rich People Who Don’t Get It and then turning all the income over to Jail Guitar Doors or (posthumously) the foundation which grew out of Strummerville…
Don't ask me, I just play the damned thing...

It is kind of depressing though, I always felt that one of the healthier developments in the guitar market in the last decade or two was decent artist signature guitars at affordable prices…

You look up the definition of “clampdown” and the only thing there is a picture of this guitar.

As a piece of art, and the exercise of a master craftsman cloning a unique guitar, I can see the value
...but jeeeee gads selling them for $20k, as everyone above said, it's just not what Joe was about  :o

Depends how you look at it. 20,000 US $ is roughly ...15 grand... right?
Take a look at Henry Rollins' vinyl collection...which must be approaching that?
As a punk rock icon he doesn't seem to have an issue with consumerism?
John Lydon lives in Malibu... etc..
Theres Something Hard in There A Henry Rollins experience long before
    ...she's got Dickie Davies eyes...
