like i said earlier, i`m not a huge fan of the LP, so you experts out there, could you tell me please, which model of gibson this is a `tribute` to? as tbh they all look pretty much the same to me.

and in the reviews section a couple say that the colour isn`t as deep and lustrous as it is in the pics, well that isn`t true on the one i have. just to redress the balance, suppose i should have put a review on there myself really...

  • Quite a few guys at basschat have picked up the bass models. The consensus seems to be they're at least as good as a squier or low end Epi.

I'm sorely tempted by some of their models but I'm on a "no new instruments" ban until I have time to play the ones I already own!

Need to start up an "idea for the 2015 challenge" in the M&M section, and a pointer-to-it thread in the main Gear section too, see what interest there is ...
    Fantastic.........
    Good ideas @TTony
For now i will leave it with you but i'm right behind this and will help with any aspect so keep in touch and let me know what i can do to help as and when.

OK then ... I've started a new thread in the m&m section right here.  A 2015 m&m challenge.

If you're serious about trying one of these cheapies, sign-up on that thread, choose your weapon (ie model) and if there's enough commitment, I'll approach Thomann to see if they'd be interested in supporting our efforts in some way.

If nothing else, we might get free postage on them all (to our individual addresses).

    :)

    Oh stone the bloody crows....

As if I didn't have acute gas already I had to read this thread.

And I can't even use the excuse of being a lefty to resist temptation because they have a load of HB lefties.

    Aaaaggggghhhhhh.

Also -  the euro has taken a hammering so there should be some leverage against the £ right now too...

HB Electrics, sorted by price: http://www.thomann.de/gb/search.html?gf=electric_guitars&bf=harley_benton&oa=pra

I MUST NOT JOIN IN!! I'm REALLY tempted by a tele though, either:

    or preferably

I planned to buy a kit and build one for myself, but this is even cheaper!
Baby#2 due in a few weeks means that my GAS fund is at an all time low... but is also physical evidence of my lack of self control (& common sense)!
