Mac mini...how very frustrating !

So just got my ( used) Mac mini...excitement.

Hooked up monitor with HDMI...ok

Switched on...ok

Ah....need wired mouse...found one.

Oh Oh...need wired keyboard to set the thing up !....no such thing in my house now...got to swipe one from work tomorrow.

How did you expect to use a computer without a keyboard? Is it that you need a wired one to set it up before using a wireless one that you do have?

I'm pretty sure you can set one up with an Apple Bluetooth keyboard.

I have a Bluetooth apple keyboard, but it wouldn't recognise it ...Google search reckons this is a common issue, though it seems to work for a few people.

We've bought a load of Mac Minis at work and I don't recall ever having had a problem.

Different OS versions.

I'm finding Macs to be "fussy".

Erm I think I've tried it with Mountain Lion and Mavericks. 

Can't remember if I've done it since Yosemite has been out.
