I was thinking of getting a birth year guitar, but 1986 wasn't a great year for anything really:

- Challenger disaster

- Chernobyl disaster

- Phil Lynott dies

- Rock me Amadeus becomes a hit

I stick with a Tokai or something similar, there's no point in having a birth year guitar that's crap.

I've got a YMMADGTROG - a 1977 Yamaha SG2000.

I try not to think too much about the YMMADGTRO bit, and enjoy the fact it's a bloody nice geetar

Fender did restart US production on a limited scale in 86 following the management buyout of CBS.

They are not common but something like this could be good:
