I had a Hondo that looked very similar - I took it in a p/x deal with a Raleigh Burner for a big Carlsboro amp in about 1987. Tbh, I swapped it for something else pretty quickly, iirc.

It's hideously wonderful or is that wonderfully hideous? Either way, there can't be many of em out there...

    That's brilliantly tasteless.

You'd better make sure you can shred like a beast before taking to the stage with it.

I remember first seeing one of these in early 80s with a Birmingham based band called Shy , who I really liked

Many guitars have a re-sale value. Some you'll never want to sell.

It plays and sounds good too. Bugger to stand on a guitar rack though. Good to see you've customised a stand for it! :)

Ha, no that old stand is covered in an old cotton Tshirt for nitro guitars.
It plays great now after a little fine tuning and yeah the mmk45 pickup has plenty of grunt, I love the contrast of the design with the simplicity of the controls.
Now I need to add yet another couple bottles of nail varnish to my collection

    At least it's not black...Congratulations
I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.

This one was black when I bought it, had a really good 2pack refinish which took hours and hours to strip, luckily it was near mint underneath.

Oh my fucking god, I don't know whether I like it, or hate it, or whether it is some combination of the two, anyway enjoy the guitar.

The really odd thing is that the body shape is actually very stylish and artistic, well-proportioned and balanced-looking, with all the right lines and actually beautiful in its own way.

… but the headstock looks like some sort of deranged sci-fi can-opener.

I remember them! Quick Google says the guitarist Steve died in 2011, which was the end of the band. Sad but quite amazed the band were still going up to then,

I can honestly say I don't think I've ever seen a guitar that fugly before - it is truly hideous.

Besides the shape - which takes "pointy" to a whole new level, the paint job, well what can I say?
