Saw him with Level42 when Boon Gould quit, not long before he died.

Yes, should not be forgotten. One of the all time greats. His playing made a huge impact on me. Saw him many times with SFX.

Yes good to remember him. I still use the main riff to Six-Eight as an exercise.

My little anecdote , i was playing a session date a long time ago with someone who worked directly with alan.i said how much i admired him as a player and asked a couple of questions , she refused to eloborate shook her head and said "silly boy ,so sad "  it felt really awkward so that was that ....

love the sfx cd too , also i used to have a live level 42 video that was rather good ...

There was a touching pictorial tribute to alan on one of kates albums i think just a picture of a guitar on a chair .....  i cant find it,  if anyone knows what im talking about please put it up ... its quite poignant ....
