This isn't a parody of the intros thread by the way.

I was playing PG's FM earlier when it struck me that the end of Man of The World is probably my favourite sign off.

Beatles - A Day in the Life

Pink Floyd - Another Brick in the Wall (part 2)

    Eagles - Hotel California

America - Horse With No Name. Oh, hang on a minute. It's not the outro I like - I'm just pleased when it comes to an end.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

    @viz You stole my thunder!

    Love that Rainbow track.

    Kashmir

I like the neat little coda Jimmy Page plays at the end of the Rain Song.

    Beatles- Strawberry Fields Forever.

Def Leppard's Animal with a couple of false endings. Caught me out the first time I taped it off the Top 40 countdown.

Motorhead - Ace of Spades (is that actually an outro or just a bloody great ending?)

King's X - Ooh Song (listen right to the very end, the last few seconds give me chills every time)

Yes... to the controversy bit.  I love the first half of the song, can't bear the second half.

I know a lot of people can't, and it puzzles me a bit. I know it's not "in tune" and that seems to bother a lot of people, but to me it's one of the most emotional and beautiful pieces of music ever recorded. But I guess we're all different.

Stargazer by Rainbow- great vocal by Dio, including the definitive  lines "I see a Rainbow rising/ My eyes are bleeding".

Tattooed Lady by Rory Gallagher- a nice solo to see out the track.

INXS- Need You Tonight: Not really an outro at all, but just stops dead and therefore a memorable ending for me. Especially as it segues into "Mediate" on the album Kick.

I am the Resurrection- The Stone Roses- A great album closer anyway, but I like the way the track still sort of keeps going at the fade, as if it's about to take another turn and morph into something else.

Where the Streets Have No Name- U2. Nicely circles back to the intro with Edge's return to the main theme that trails off into the distance.

Pentangle- Train Song. Slightly creepy Danny Thompson bass coda on this, as if the eponymous 'train' were heading off down a cutting or a tunnel.

Great idea for a thread by the way. I'm enjoying thinking of favourite tracks in this way.

    :)

BTW I used to think the second half of Layla was nice, but these days I really can't hear past the slide guitar solo. It really puts me off, and I find the whole thing a bit overwrought and emotional.

This sticks in my mind, the last 20 seconds are the sound of musicians going ahh sod it the track is over. It's edited out on the single version. And rather more intentional and maybe couldn't have been done any other way the ending on this is simple genius Edit - I suppose those are endings rather than outros. :ar!

It is lovely - it'll probably turn out he's nicked that too. (I'm a superfan btw).

Tangerine has a nice ending too.

George's little thing on the end of A Hard Day's Night.

Tumbling Dice - I could listen to this outro for an hour and not get bored.

Any of those Deep Purple tracks with a long fadeout where Ritchie Blackmore is going apeshit. You keep turning the wick up as they fade it so you don't miss any of Ritchie's magic. Applies especially to April, and Demon's Eye
