Anyone got a (busted) broken iPod?

Not a touch, not a nano, not a shuffle, but one of the "original" form factor ones.

I fancy having a go at swapping out the original HDD for an SDXC card, but don't really want to use one of my functioning iPods to try it out on.

So, if anyone's got a busted iPod sitting unloved in the bottom of a drawer somewhere, where the problem is disc failure (or battery - I'll replace that too), let me know ...

And yes, I'll keep an eye on evilBay too, but knowing how untrustworthy that place is, I'll probably buy one advertised as "faulty" only to find that there's nothing wrong with it ...

I've got a 60gb classic that you're welcome to....

It stopped working about a year ago - I have no idea what the problem is though?

I didn't.  The iPod that I sourced to try it out on was too busted to fix.

You can buy already-modded ones on eBay now, often for less than the cost of an old donor iPod plus the conversion kit.

Have both a 3rd (20GB) and 4/5th Gen (120GB) ipod here.

So looking to potentially do this one myself on both.

The 3rd Gen uses an IDE type slot so was thinking of using this adapter

I have plenty of CF cards I use for my SLR.
