Ta very much. I'm not sure my wife would appreciate me talking about my hot girlfriend though. Tends to get jealous about that sort of thing. No drug habit either. I do enjoy a kebab though (no connection to the wife or girlfriend intended)

Speak Softly Love is well up there for me. If I'm to be found humming something at work, it's mostly likely to be this, and any time I get my hands on an instrument I can't play, this is one of the first tunes I'll try to work out. Here's a couple of versions that I particularly like...

    Traditional style on accordion.

And the Joey Defrancesco Trio playing it with a groovy swing feel.

It's too difficult to narrow down to one - too many genres!

Muse Butterflies and Hurricanes is right up there - first heard it on the F1 2005 game trailer. Took me two years to find out who it was by and the only way I could listen to it was by playing the game! Still love the song now and even more so live.

Depeche Mode - Walking in my Shoes I can't not mention either.

I'll refrain from adding more and more to the list otherwise it could get very long and boring!

Rachmaninov's "how fair this spot". Here it is sung by Netrebko, a singer with the creamiest voice imaginable. It's not the piano version, it's an orchestral arrangement, and it actually works really well. I could listen to this 30 times a day for 10 years and not tire of it.
    Wow.  That was incredible.

It reminds me of a particular summer.

Edit:  No it's not....  it's this one...  I always get the two mixed up !!  @daveyh

Cool, well he wrote over 80 songs, all lasting 3-5 minutes, and about 70 of them are miniature masterpieces, all with a single climactic point, which was one of his compositional principles, that every piece must have a summit. If you want to check out some more, I'd go for Harvest of Sorrow (aka soldier's wife), To the Children, Do not sing to me beautiful maiden. That's a good starter. I love here we go again too! @emp_fab

My Vitriol - Always Your Way. I bought the 7" single version when I was 16, then on my last day of secondary school I remember coming home, putting it on, turning it up louder than I'd ever had the hifi before, and just loving it.

this is such a good shout
