Making a travel guitar from a guitar neck . . .

Hey guys,

Would it be possible to modify an existing guitar neck to make a travel guitar?

Using a cheap neck from a 25.5" guitar would it be possible remove some of the lower frets and create a travel guitar - the fret spacing versus the scale length would be the issue but is there any permutation that would allow it to work?

Will do some looking into it but just had the idea and though some of you learned souls might be able to come up with some of the problems/solutions.

    no

you can shorten a scale length from the nut end, like using a capo. i.e.  if i wanted a 24" scale guitar i could take a fretboard slotted for 25.5" scale and cut one fret off the nut end.  it would be 24.07", but close enough.   the spacing of the frets would all still be correct.

you can't shorten a scale length from the bridge end without the fret slots needing to be squashed closer together

These are only a tiny bit longer than the neck alone ...
