Stripping a Vintage (JHS) Guitar.

Hi folks, does anyone know what finish Vintage guitars have on them? This is a VS6 I'm considering getting

Polyurethane I think. Though someone with more authority will be along shortly to point out how wrong I am!

This was a catalysed polyester finish, soo easy.
I have a Sheridan A150 for sale here that if it doesn't sell I'll strop the same way.

There are a few YT vids of people stripping squiers etc this way.

Yeah I must say I read that post and was inspired, lovely finish under the paint there!
