This ain't blues but it sure is "Heavy" and I'm sure you've heard of him. Hearing some of the lush dirty guitar tones on this thread, I thought you'd like this.

Tis a wonderful sound. He's a great player.

I'm glad I looked at this thread, I've discovered Walter Trout and Philip Sayce.

By no means conventional "Blues", but the Groundhogs with Tony McPhee might be worth checking out.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned... Gov't Mule?? I would class them as heavy blues
    .........
The Black Crowes (I would count them as heavy blues anyway!)
    Widomed.

    And +1
Imagine something sharp and witty here ......

An interview in Guitar and Bass this month alerted me to Jared James Nichols... listened to the album twice back to back this morning and it's superb. 2-3 weak poppy / ballad sort of tracks, but other than that it's a great album.

    Haywire...

    Full Album here...

Some good live videos on YouTube too.

    That's alright!

I've listened to the album and was a bit disappointed, I really wasn't expecting those few wishy-washy tracks, they're totally out of place.

Same here! I'm no music critic but they stick out like a sore thumb, it's a bit strange. If they were chucked out and replaced with a couple along the lines of the "heavier" ones it would be an epic album.

Really, really like some of the tracks though.
