Composition Challenge #11 - Freedom

I realised I wasn't going to get round to anything too elaborate and so you've got the entry in my guitar diaries for last Saturday - which coincidentally happened to be Halloween. Hopefully, my mindless fretmangling going by the name of 'Restring Theory' won't be too scary.

The text begins thus...

"This afternoon I was restringing my Ibanez Artist - but not just any old restring!........."

I think I'm gonna try and nail this over the coming weekend. Because of the freedom of subject matter etc I've been struggling to pin stuff down but I'm hoping all the various snippets can just be mangled together somehow.

Should I go with vocals even though I can't sing as previously evidenced?

I've enjoyed your singing in previous challenges. Honestly.

There's more to performance than pure technique.

  Yep, you should defo sing, I've given singing a go this time around  and really wasn't sure about submitting it because it is pretty rough to say the least .

.  I've found everyone who comes to this section of the forum ( including yourself ) to be very supportive. I know i'm never going to be a good singer but i enjoyed having a go and that's all that matters as far as i'm concerned.

I wasn't fishing for compliments haha but thanks. I've two ideas in my head one is singing one is not, so was trying to decide which to go for.

I think the whole Fretboard challenge concept to be brilliantly constructive in general, I said in the thread about the riff  challenges in OT that it amazes me how many people are on a site about a music making instrument yet completely ignore this section...

To be fair, probably the best policy. Fun if you're an irony fan and a lefty with some spare time but less so I'd you dislike repetitive jokes about architectural photography

I think because it is called Making Music and has a wide range of threads .. people scan quickly, don't understand and move on. There have been several comments to that effect.

Someone suggested making the challenges a separate section , which I think is probably a good idea.

good point, that is the old sound cloud account that got maxed out, everything is uploaded to the main one now (changed the link)

But no the entries are not uploaded until after the submission date has closed for this competition.
