Better picture closer to actual colour. Really pops in good light though.

Quick update, added a roller bridge for the tremolo, had to fill the bridge holes with dowel and redrill as the posts were pretty small. Had noticed the tunomatic was moving backwards and forwards with the tremolo though tuning was only a tiny bit out afterwards. No movement now with rollers and looks quite smart too. Might try and find a les Paul roller nut too, all I can see so far is Tele a Strat versions. Have all new chrome screws on the way, excuse the b&q ones. image

Cheers @robwright it still needs some work on the neck but it's playing. I may have to get another neck at some point as I can't get the action low enough for my liking without buzzing frets near the neck joint. Have tried adding relief but it makes th action too high.

Time to invest in some fretting tools!
It's reasonably easy to taper away the last few frets to stop the buzzing /choking.

Can you recommend a reasonable starter kit? Cheers

so these are the bare minimum I would use, a fret levelling beam and crowning file.

micromesh cloths for polishing after crowning.

and the fret rocker for finding which frets are high or low, these can be had for about £5 but those tend to put tiny nicks in the frets.

apologies if these links don't work, I'm using a tablet at the moment and it's not keen on playing ball!

I should point out I linked a jumbo fret file, you may well feel the need for a medium or narrow, in my experience the jumbo has covered all but one guitar for me so far (20+)
