Double sided tape

What's Hot
I used to use B&Q's smooth carpet tape for temporary fixes and for sticking router patterns to wood etc. but they don't sell it any more.

I'm using some stuff from ScrewFix at the moment, but it's a bit thicker and has some "give" to it so router patterns have a chance of moving slightly if I'm a bit heavy-handed so if anyone knows of a thin, smooth double-sided tape to replace the B&Q stuff I'd be grateful.

The other option is to order loads of different tapes from Amazon/Ebay/etc. and that might prove expensive and still not get me what I want.

Any suggestions?

I used to get mine from Atlantis in Shoreditch.
It is an art supplies shop- really good quality so I bought loads.
I have enough for the next few years probably.

Have you come across the 'masking tape trick' as described below? It may be a better solution for you than double sided tape?

B&Q still do a smooth carpet tape which may be the same stuff, or at least they did last weekend when I bought some - it's branded as "Diall".

Sellotape double sided used to be good until about 15 years ago as it had a vinyl carrier.

They switched to a paper carrier and the tape became useless for this purpose as it disintegrates as you remove it and clean up is a bitch.
However Scapa tape took over the old style tape, but it isn't easy to find.
We get it in bulk cut to size from Parafix tapes and tare thankful as it's been the best we've found

Yes, that sellotape one is an absolute pig to remove. It actually sticks 'too' well.

It always seems to stick better to its backing paper than anything else.

Sod the spelling, he passes on awesome tips.

Have used the tape and CA method extensively recently and it is superb.

Also have quite a few of his tools which are also excellent.

The link below shows the type I use. I've been using it now for about 15 years is never let me down it is  a high quality professional type, can't go wrong with this one I've never had slippage or a jig move while I've been routing.
