Are any of you holding on to a guitar, that you should probably move on?

  • Of all the guitars I've got that don't get used much I can find other reasons for keeping (sentiment, wouldn't get much for it etc)
"Working" software has only unobserved bugs. (Parroty Error: Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!)
Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself

Would be gutted to sell the acoustic then decide later I should have kept it but yeah, just doesn't get played much. Maybe I'm not really an acoustic player!
Don't sell it unless you actually need the money - you might need it one day, and Larriveés don't hold their value so you'll get a pittance for what it is. Two electrics and an acoustic isn't an excessive collection ;).

I don't play my Martin 12-string much either, but I don't think I'll sell it - it just sounds so good when I do that I know I would one day miss it and want another, and then not be able to find one like it.

    Maybe. Possibly.
    Or maybe not.
    You astonish me :D
    Shocker huh?

Seriously. I have a couple (well certainly one) that I don't really play. It's a recent acquisition, and is stunning - but I just don't use it. It's also quite a sort after thing amongst the circles who like. I'm debating selling as I don't use it. Or keeping it in the case for 6 months and then trying it again. Don't particularly need the money for anything...so it's a bit hmmmm

Yes a '77 SG... Which looks cool as, but has such a skinny neck. It's got a bit of sentimental value. And it's the same age as me. But I never play it.

My USA 2006 Standard Tele in candy apple red. It plays and sounds great, but I discovered I much prefer strats so I don't play it.

it should go really instead of sitting sadly in its case.

Yeah my white Gretsch 5124 with Bigsby branded B6c. It’s a lovely ornament though! Used prices vary wildly on them if I only achieved the  lower amount I’d rather keep it.

I also have have an Orville by Gibson 57ri that doesn’t get much playing time - but I like the colour!

I'm not holding on to ANY guitars that I should probably move on.. I've moved them on!!! I am now left with a Jet city amp head, a Epiphone casino coupe with handwired pickups and my acoustic (which is staying as it gets played a surprisingly large amount!)

  • A Les Paul Historic 58. Should swap it for a 335 and an SG but I worry I'll only buy another LP in the future.

Keep plugging away at him. I think he will break
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

I’m very tempted to sell my Washburn N4 (again) as I really do have a love/hate relationship with it.

In that I hate the neck shape but love everything else about it.

    He's a tough cookie you know ;)

I'd up it to £100 if he showed a bit of interest!
