I'd have to ask, but they are a funk and soul band so they would probably be alright with some blues, but they wouldn't be doing highway to hell or anything of that nature. That said the singer is a total rocker so she probably would.

so long as your drummer can play a shuffle beat. some funk drummers are so hung up on semiquavers they can't do anything else!

Well, I'm not a Native so I haven't called anyone Booooy yet or said Tooooosday. I'm a Stiltonian so I guess none of the above; we've only just stopped sacrificing living creatures. I could see Tesco and Aldi (2) if I jumped up and down a lot. No Staffy but a Killer Yorkie, and yes I know John.

I'd recommend sometime in late Jan - Feb, so that the people who would otherwise be gigging parties, weddings, corporate functions are more likely to be able to attend, and also because any venue we might want to be booked is more likely to be available. Also, so that those who got goodies for Christmas can display/demo them

Let's assume that we want;

- a bit of a jam, maybe 2/3 guitarists, and maybe 2/3 guitars *with* bass & drums

- quiet time to "show & tell" gear, & chat generally

- food & drink on-site

- all in a reasonably secure/closed environment that's gear-friendly

- somewhere centralish to East Anglia and easyisth to get to

We need c6 people who are happy to underwrite the cost @£20/ea, and are *absolutely* committed to turn up, no matter what so that the event is viable.  

If others turn up, it's £10/hd towards the cost of the venue hire.  If enough turn up, the underwriters get £10 of their guarantee returned (so we all pay the same).  If even more turn up, the extra goes into a food & drink kitty.

We also need a drummer, wtith kit, and a bassist (ditto) and an agreement to play a few standards to support the band-jam.

I'll happily be one of the 6, will look for a venue, and sort whatever needs sorting, but we'd need 5 other equally committed people.

And do we have a willing drummer & bassist?

Happy to sign up for this if a suitable date is arranged (needs to be arranged about three months ahead). For the 2013 event, a date was agreed but then changed, so I wasn't able to make it.
I play bass and drums and have gear I could bring, but I'd like to play some guitar as well :-)
