Back now. Did Camden today though which was a big highlight. Never seen such a massive market and the food was excellent!!

Birmingham. Biggest German Christmas market outside of Germany or Austria, biggest shopping area in Europe, I think, more canals than Venice, new train station, new library and... well, there's only so much you need to see in a city break.

I'm from the West mids, so would want to be proud of Brum, but it has always punched below its weight. At present it's a massive ugly building site, and Manchester has nearly twice as many stalls (350)  in its German market, btw (Brum has 180 or so)
