New bike bought - Tracer 9 GT+. Still in the early stages but it's defo a step above my Versys 650 in nearly every area (screen excepted). Haven't really been able to open it up due to the breaking in period but it can certainly move. Great fun
Congrats! Nice bike, get some pics posted

Nice, looks very versatile from what I can read.  Will you be touring on it?

Might find some time to get out for a blip today. Due some rain later for a change so don’t know how far I’ll get.

Currently getting the bike ready for its jaunt to Spain in June. Ordered some new tyres (Michelin Road 6) and have decided to get the gear to mount them myself - it comes to about the same price as having them fitted.

Some of the other service items I want to have sorted before Spain are staring to add up. The BMW specialist I used to use have shut up shop but the service chap is still taking on bits of work from home. I’m hoping he can give the bike the once over and save me just ordering a ton of unnecessary parts that I don’t need.

Out of interest, where does everyone live? I have suggested this before, but assuming there’s enough interest and a mutual meet point and date can be agreed, who would be up for the inaugural theFretboard Bikers Meet?

I’m in south wales but don’t mind travelling a couple of hours. Again if anyone is bothered, maybe we could put pins in a map of where we all are and plot a point in the middle?

If I’m suggesting bollocks then do tell me.

    Bit of trading feedback here.

Cosmic. Obviously we’re spread out a bit, so how far is everyone willing to ride for a meet up?

1-2hrs maybe? I’m in S.Somerset though, so out of the way for many I’m sure!

I’m still dithering over keeping my bike. I only managed 1,200mi last year, down from ~15k/yr pre-Covid. My life’s changed a lot since then and realistically I don’t have much time to spare to use it, and it’s logistically difficult/impossible for daily stuffs now too. I’m in denial basically; the sensible thing to do would be to sell up, but as I don’t need the money or space rn it’s hard to bring myself to do so.

IoM is a nice idea but would take quite a lot of planning and might be time consuming?  Otherwise 2-3 hours for me I think, I’m Eng/S Wales border.

I’m in Surrey but would definitely ride a fair distance for a meet up. I love Wales and haven’t been for a while. Would be worth an overnight stay for me so I can experience those roads again

Not sure if this belongs in the motorbike thread as it relates to Harley's :-D

I have a complete set of 12 UK 'HOG' (Harley Owners Group) morphing into a couple of 'VEE' magazines from 89/ 90's that I'd like to pass on to someone into Harley's that might appreciate them. Unmolested, original posters included, good condition, but being 30 odd year old print material, they are more delicate than when new.
Some details here with contents listing per issue : https://www.magazineexchange.co.uk/cw/hog-magazine
Free to TFB members, but a contribution to cover P&P would be nice, as being US iron, they weigh a bit
More than two offers to rehome them will trigger a random names pulled from hat scenario.

Weekend pic. Rare spot of sun + ride opportunity.
Out here in the Eastern flatlands (Cambs) but could be up for a meet, I'd guess we're all a bit distributed though.

Re the possibility of a meet-up:

Using rough locations of everyone who has commented so far that they'd be up for it, I've plumbed a mutual location into whatshalfway.com and it's chucked out Faringdon in Oxfordshire at me.

Not sure what's there, BUT, about 20 miles up the road is Diddly Squat Farm Shop.

Having been there before a couple of times, only once on the bike, it's not a bad place to meet assuming we pick a decent day - good facilities for a bite to eat and a drink and it's also not a bad ride, at least from the direction I've approached it.

The only sticking point I can foresee is that Mr Clarkson divides opinion.  Not that I think we'd be in any danger of actually seeing or meeting the man, but I know he garners some dislike so can fully accept that frequenting his establishment might not knock everyone's kickstand up.

However, if that seems ok from everyone else's perspective then we can pencil that in as a possible location, but I'm also happy to listen to other ideas too.  Previously I was mulling over Loomies in Hampshire or maybe Poole Harbour, as I've never been to Loomies and I love Poole Harbour.

Yeah, for me its a shoulders and hands thing. Long story but i'm mostly mended and might revert to lower bars. Or back to cheap old unfashionable litre-plus 4s. Though sadly the days of under a quid a cc seem all but gone since covid.

It wouldn't be an inaugural ride because that happened a few years ago - led by the op - octatonic. I joined him for a ride around the cotswolds - there was another rider whose name will come to me. I'll probably come from NW london. Not sure I fancy Diddly Squat - Loomies is usually rammed - the Departure Lounge in Alton usually has a bit more room. We could meet there and go to Poole - or just about anywhere via Petersfield because there are some nice roads around there.
