Fake lazy j. Just in from jesse

Just had this in from jesse so am spreading the word for him. To those interested in Lazy J amps!!! I was contacted by someone who bought a used J20...as it turns out, this person already owns another J20, so he had something to compare this new purchase to. Then he called me, because the amp just didn't seem right...and after seeing some pictures I can confirm that this is a fake...and a sad one at that. Whoever did this tried to copy certain parts of a J20...he's obviously had access to one. But the wiring is just bad...and there are enough obvious tell tale signs that the new owner of this amp contacted me. I will get to take a look at this amp next week, so I'll know more then... Would everyone please spread the word about this...and also, if you're thinking about buying a used Lazy J amp and you're at all uncertain about it, give me a shout. No, I didn't buy it, He put it up on Facebook and asked for the info to be passed on/around just to warn any unsuspecting buyers to be on their guard.

Jesse is a top top man.

I took my used Lazy J to him and he kindly serviced it, checked it out, and set it up beautifully.

He still had time for a 'nobody' like me, compared to his client list.

Well the positive that Jesse can get out of it is that someone has produced a fake and thought a lazy j worthy to go to all the effort. Just bad news for the recipient though.

I must admit I always go back to the builder if it's a boutique amp to check its authenticity etc before I buy them I.e. Gartone, MJW

Read the post.  He said he will be happy to authenticate a potential second hand purchase.

He's a top man. Ive trotted out this story many times but I bought my first J20 second hand and it had been modded by Jesse originally to stay cleaner. I was underwhelmed and put it on eBay. Jesse contacted me and asked what I didn't like. Gave him the serial number and he told me the full story. He then offered to send me the parts FOC and spent over an hour with me on Skype as we put it back to stock remotely. And he asked for not a penny.

A Top fella indeed.
