"Now", "so" or "okay" when used to buy a few seconds thinking time at the beginning of every little section of waffle, or just because you're not sure how else to start speaking anymore. Just say "errr", we're all thinking that anyway.

  • "robust". every single politician or public figure has to squeeze this in to every public utterance.

it`s the new `in` word for these clowns.

"we will be setting up a new and robust system to ensure blah blah blah."

why not just say " this time we`ll try and get it/them to fucking work properly, and do what we should have done the first time around..."

  • Definitely "Webinar". One of the worst of businesspeak.

    See also "myself" and "utilise"

I don't like "synergy", but it does at least have a genuine use as a word.

  • Guestimate - a guy in my office uses it all the time. He also pronounces schedule as "skedule". Given that he does a lot of work on budgets and forecasts the phrase " this skedule includes a number of guestimates" gets used far too often.

  • "touch base"

The final straw for me, was when my consultant used it when arranging a further meeting..

  • Any of those compound words the media are so fond of, e.g. "bromance", "Brangelina", "guyliner" etc etc. Also "comedic", as in "pertaining to comedy". No, he is NOT a "comedic actor" , he is a COMIC actor.

  • The "look and feel" of something. We had some consultants come in last week and we were treated to an unbelievable torrent of this stuff.

Someone being "across" a subject or situation. It's odd how these sayings spread amongst news organisations and become fashionable.

"Can I leave that with you?" Meaning I've got a tuna salad on my desk and this task is beyond me so I'm off, pleb!

    Nucular.

You'd have thought that the producers of 24 would have noticed in season 2 that Kiefer Sutherland can't pronounce "nuclear" properly and therefore refrain from nuclear-based plots. But they proceeded to make another five stories with nucular threats.

My pronunciation bugbear is "pronounciation" (unless it is used as some sort of clever portmanteau for only ever describing someone as "him" or "her").

Vanilla and solution, as in, vanilla solution.

The word 'like' when young people use it about 50 fucking times a sentence, seemingly unable to speak without it.

    Babyccino.

The concept, the product, the idea behind it are all just awful - then as a word it's horrific.

I bought a nice Strat from a chap who constantly called me dude.  I'm sixty fucking three.  I'm not a dude now; wasn't when I was thirty either; in fact, I never was or have been.

    Resplendent.

I first noticed the complete over-use of this word by commentators of Wimbledon a few years back. "Ooh, doesn't Centre Court look resplendent in the sunshine?"

NO, it looks nice...great even...fantastic maybe. Now fuck off.
