What's your favourite Clean Amps?

What's Hot
duotoneduotone Frets: 1001
A guy I used to work with (I'm going back 12 or so years here) always praised Laney Amps for their clean tone.

What amps, regardless of price have you got your favourite clean tones through?

  • If you mean 'clean' as opposed to 'edge of break up', an early Mark Series Boogie with 6L6 Simul Class power stage and EV speaker.

Actually maybe I would put the Mesa Blue Angel above even the Hiwatt. A very different type of clean, but it is clean rather than edge-of-breakup unless it's cranked up a fair way.

Well a Fender Twin sounds good, as do those late-70s hybrid Music Man amps. 112RP or similar.

My favourite is the Deluxe Reverb however, because it doesn't weigh a metric fuckton.

second place goes to the twin
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.
