Gibson SG Obsession

I'm not a fan of black SGs... but my fave SG is black. I prefer to listen to tone than see it, I guess. ;-)

OK, just about except Les Paul Standards, but even that's pushing it and it needs to be a very light burst or a subtle flame. Otherwise, one or the other but not both on the same instrument. And quilt is almost always hideous no matter what the finish.

So SGs are usually one of the more tasteful guitars, really .

It's a shame I find them so awkward to play - it's that balance thing, or perhaps just that the neck is too far out to the left.

You could pick up the DIY kit of those guitars for free after The Who gigs.

I recently swapped my mustang for a SG ebony special and whilst its taken some time to get used to with the 50's neck i'm now really into it.

Probably a long time ago now and the rightful owner has long since got over it, but that always makes me uncomfortable - not for fear that anyone would come looking for it, I just don't like owning stolen property on principle.

Always tempted after listening to Robbie Krieger. Never owned one.
