Anyone watching this? I read book some time ago, but after the mess of a TV series that was Under the Dome, I had some reservations. Pretty impressed with the first episode though.

I like the main actors, and it seems close enough to the book so far..

it just does not make any sense. Surely it should be 11:23 and 3 seconds, unless they are using some euro-metric clock with one hundred seconds to the minute, but that isn't right because the Swiss invented time with their twelves and sixties.

I thought the book was great too. Start of a return to form by King. I never bother with TVs adaptations of his books, they never match up to the worlds he forms in your imagination...

Limiting JJ Abrahms to only 8 episodes is a great idea, all his series are ridiculously strong at the beginning then gradually descend into silliness.. Hopefully he can offset Stephen King's one dimensional (and identical) characters and raging narcissism.

Time travel and stopping Kennedy's assassination, that's all you need to know, and that's not a spoiler btw, the trailers say as much. A cross between Quantum Leap and any other Sc-Fi "changing the past" plot

I didn't stick with the book, either, because it became bloody tedious.  

I got to about 600 pages in and thought, "Fuck it - I've lost the will to live".
