Fair play for doing your homework. A bit of overhang would annoy me as well. It's a shame that it's just a tiny bit too long.

I believe the thorpy is going round as a Marshall in a box. With the two gain controls, the gain and calibre knobs, it is quite a unique pedal.

If I were you, I'd check out other so-called Marshall in a box pedals. Starting with the ramble FX marvel drive. It too has two gain knobs, labelled high treble and normal.

I've not heard either in person but they both sound great on videos.

    Am I missing something?

The sockets are on the top on the Gunshot, so it saves the space either side of a Boss where the jack plugs go. They are "longer" though.
This, its the overall dimensions of the pedal when you put the jack plugs in. the Gunshot takes up less space because everything comes out the top. Also no need to apologise, always good to do your homework.

Are you sure it doesn't fit?

"Size: (W)70mm x(L)145mm x(H)60mm =(2.75"x5.7"x2.36") designed to fit perfectly across two Pedaltrain spars."
145mm length is too long for a Pedaltrain Nano+ The pedal train Nano+ is 125mm. So yes I am sure it doesn't fit without hanging over the edge.

I get that Thorpy wants to make his pedals tough but there are plenty of tough pedals out there in a more conventional and accomodating  pedal size.

I'll bet you a quid it'll still go in the softcase fine.

I'll test it on my Nano (regular) for you.
    Red ones are better.

F*ck it! I'm getting one! I need that sound in my rig.

I'll get over the looks and size if it sounds as good as I'm expecting

So the Pedaltrain NANO+ is designed for a590 and Nano sized pedals with regards to length. When i designed the ThorpyFx enclosure It was designed with a standard Pedaltrain 3 and Junior in mind that i currently own. With regards to the NANO+ the Gunshot wont fit on the board without an overhang,

I would suggest its time for a new pedalboard, rather than a different pedal :)

I like the sounds of the demos I have heard of the Thorpy Gunshot but I hate the look of it, it's too big, clunky and awkward looking for me plus it won't fit on a pedal train nano+ alongside my other pedals.

Are there any similar sounding pedals in more traditional sized housings?
Have you thought about trying to host a Richard Dawkins book signing at your local church? You might get a more favourable reception.......,

Surely the obvious solution is to get a Smorg Grab500 and put the Nano+ in the bin?

It'll easily fit on one of their Grab boards (I've just measured mine - 19cm deep, but the cable gap is in exactly the right place for a Gunshot).

Hadn't heard of the Smorg boards...Interesting...but the lack of gap between rails? what about pedals with power sockets on the side of the pedal, can't feed the power lead from underneath between the rails.

Isn't 'in the bin' a bit harsh for the Nano+? :-)

It doesn't take up that much room on a pedalboard.
