I had a Timeline briefly, but couldn't get on with it compared to the Timefactor, which is easier to use and better sounding, imo. You do need a 2- or 3-button Aux to make it useable live though.

How many different delay sounds do you guys use in one set, out of curiosity?

When I last used a delay live I had about 6.

I've had a Flight Time since it first came out. It's brilliant but the switching really is terrible. I ended up buying the FTT MC-3 MIDI controller, which is an extra £200. So, almost £600 all in, but I'm really happy with it in almost every respect.
You should def look at the Diamond Memory Lane Jr - simple, affordable and a great, warm delay.

First practice with my Timeline today.

Very surprised at how much it cut through, versus the DD500 I have. I'd like to try them side by side, but my gut feel is that the Timeline is sonically superior - and that's not honeymoon period talking! The Timeline has a bit more grit to it and the mix control is balanced nicely when makes dialing it in very intuitive.

I had a Timeline for 3 years but sold it.  The interface is really bad I think and I did not need all those delays.  You really have to be into delays to need the TL.  Also I thought it sounded slightly cold.  I had TC Electronics pedals as well but cannot bond with them - sound too sterile.  Recently I bought a Deluxe Memory Boy and that's exactly what I needed - Convenient to use and sounds good.

Thinking about getting a timeline myself to replaces two smaller delays.

I've had timeline mobius and bigsky and found them all to have a signature digital strymon sound, far too clinical for me.

For simple hands on delays I like the carbon copy cloner, and the doubler on the strymon deco sounds lovely. For the more complex stereo delays, I think the h9 with the time factor algorithms is far more versatile than the timeline, if a little more difficult to edit (without an iPhone/pad) Strymon do seem to be quite good at tape emulation and I'd like to try some of their other delays.
