I never understood why the 57 Deluxe and Twin were dropped - some of their best amps by far

@MattFGBI i've read elsewhere that the Deluxe has an alnico speaker (Fender branded Eminence). Is that correct?
    Yes, it's an alnico 12".

Vibro king looks nice but at that price I'd go for a @Riftamps build

That's in the same price bracket as a Lazy J...

I'd rather buy another Lazy J to be honest

They won't have the lazy j bits I.e. VAC, mid boost or the Celestian Blue in them so lazy j more versatile I'm sure for that price

The custom twin is the same price as a fully spec out J20 which has a mid boost, bass cut, VAC, Spring reverb tank and tube driven tremolo.

It's fair to say if you want a custom tweed twin, you'll possibly be disappointed with the Lazy J. I don't think it's just a tweed deluxe but louder.

But given the choice between a lazy j and a fender made tweed deluxe... Well, for the same price a kitted out lazy j. Not sure how much a fender tweed deluxe runs for though.

I guess that's fair but base on spec, the twin looks a bit thin on features.

They actually look very nice.  Very nice indeed.

Personally, the '57 Custom Twin' would be my choice.

But unfortunately, I tend to agree with the others, in that they're overpriced.  For that kinda money, I'd buy a Lazy J instead.  No brainer, really.

No doubt, they're fine sounding amplifiers though!

Another important reason I won't buy Fender amps anymore is, they're just way too darn heavy!!  I was going to buy a hand-wired Vibro King a couple of years ago, but the weight of that thing! Man-o-man!!  Weighed a ton and then some.. My friend appropriately named it the "Hernia King".
