Not sure why you'd buy a new pcb amp when there are mint hand wired second hand ones floating about that cost less (I understand Friedman's lifetime warranty is transferable and they actually do honor it)

Just checked and you're right...ignore my last post but there isn't a huge amount to go wrong with them really.

I blew a fuse on mine and mailed Dave Friedman just to ask a few questions and he couldn't have been more helpful.

The Runt is very different from other Friedman amps, different feature set all together over that available on the Handwired amps, the fact that it's PCB based doesn't matter really.

As for their service, I agreed..


When I first got my BE100 a year or so ago I had a suspected faulty power valve. He did sone investigation via email then sent me a full set of 4 matched valves to replace them all. He sent them express from the USA, no questions asked and no fee to me.

Sounds a lot of amps but if they are concerned about the exchange rate getting worse they won't get caught out.

It probably won't be when exchange rates catch up, I.e. the Pink Taco prices are likely for those already imported.

The price of everything is going up.  The Milkman 40w steel is nearly as much as the 80w steel at Andertons and it is half the size, one less speaker, etc.  Now is the time to get that amp you always wanted; if you can.  In a few months add another £500+

Just for the record I would love another friedman amp in the future and the runt looks like an excellent option.

The runt 20w is showing at £996 at music productiv. Would be amazing if that was actually the price!

I was in guitar guitar yesterday and they are hoping to have these before the end of the month.

Their order was ready for shipping from Friedman last week apparently.
