ODs you'll never give up.

Despite having owned dozens of OD pedals I always come back to the Boss OD-2 and the Way Huge Pork Loin. They just seem to work with every amp I've ever played.
Have any of you got Ods that you've owned for years and will never part with?

I'm very partial to my Fulltone OCD. I've always found a positive use for it whatever amp I'm going into.

Black secret. Though that's partly because it's too cheap to get a decent return anyway.

My Marshall Guv'nor Mk.1 from around 1990. It's getting a bit temperamental so it's off my board until I can get it fettled by someone who knows what they're doing but it's going nowhere.

    Nobels ODR-1
It's such a personal thing, the type of overdrive you love.  I have literally got a box of overdrives and I bet that I'm not the only one sitting on a hoarde of 'em.  But this one, the Nobels ODR-1 is the one which I love, the one which I use, the one which is always on my board.
In second place, for me, would be the Marshall Guvnr 2.

Both of these, ironically, are nearly the cheapest overdrives I own.  Go figure!

Boss OD-1, mainly because it's the first pedal I ever bought and I think of it as my sound by now. It was originally quite thin-sounding but I swapped a cap in a high pass filter section to allow more bass through. It now sounds practically identical to a newer SD-1 when played side-by-side.

Tubescreamer, Klon, bluesbreaker 1 - I've learnt how to play with these, use them with my amps and give me a good set of sounds, tubescreamer is all I really "need" but those 3 together make a fantastic setup.

Wampler Plextortion - I keep coming back to it. With the EQ I can most amps to be friendly.

    Nobels ODR-1 here as well
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

Rat, Hotcake, Liquid Sunshine. I've had at two of those three of those on my board for the best part of a decade now. Exactly which ones depends on what I'm playing and through which amp, but I'll never shift any of them.

Had the Blackstone mosfet here for 7 years now. I find that the smoother ODR-1 & blackstone pedals stack well with the op amp type TS/dumble drives.

  • At the moment, boss df-2 and I love the boss od-3. Big fan of the mxr dist 3, too.

The od-3 is really special. It's like a better bd-2.

Blackout effectors seriously special twosome. Love the fix'd fuzz side with fuzz 1 on at about 9 o'clock, perfect light OD sound for me. The blunderbus is also amazing

Not that it would be worth selling but I wouldn't ever part ways with my Bad Monkey.

I sold a CM-2 before they were discontinued and have regretted it since!
