The only one I've kept coming back to is the Boo Instruments Boost. While it's a clean boost and not strictly an overdrive, that's exactly how I use it and I've never found one (including all the usual suspects) which does the job so well.

My Joyo AC Tone is my amp tone - it means I never need anything other that a loud, clean backline amp. Nothing I've tried comes close to the same tone or stacks anywhere near as well.

The Mad Professor LGW, it had it's moment in the sun a long time ago but it still does it for me after far too many drive pedals to mention.

Bad Monkey, innit. Prefer it to a Tube Screamer and it has more adjustable EQ, winner.

and Digitech have discontinued it so it may be worth something in years to come.

My Marshall Guv'nor Mk.1 from around 1990. It's getting a bit temperamental so it's off my board until I can get it fettled by someone who knows what they're doing but it's going nowhere.
If you can find a Hardwire CM-2, they have a very similar  growl to the Mk1 Guv.
    A very capable second option/back-up.

As for dirts I'd never give up? All of them.........

Interesting that not all your favourites are overpriced boutique pedals.

I have bought and sold a lot of overdrives over the last 20 years when I got into pedals. I've kept three overdrives...

Klon, King of Tone v2 and a FD2 fm. The first two would be almost impossible to replace. When I get bored with them I use the FD2. THis was my first boutique overdrive and I bought it in 2001. The other two were 06 and 07.

These 3 are close enough and different enough to rotate and I'm currently using the FD2.
