Jeez - these pedals sound great and what a player.

Anyone here using any of them and what are your thoughts? I quite like The Harlot

Just my opinion but one can get really bogged down by these pedals and shows like this. I for one love the show and tune into it every week but after a while I feel these overdrive pedals just sound the same and will sound different into your amp anyway so kind of pointless? Or am I missing something?

Much prefer to hear about modulations and how to use them etc. Isn''t the show just becoming a sales tool now?

I think it depends how you look at it - they certainly encourage interest in/promote some things, but those seem to be genuinely fucking amazing things. Andertons channel (which I also enjoy though) it aint ;-)
    Red ones are better.

Haven't watched this yet but yeah Simon Jarrett is a tasty player for sure.

I had a Minstrel and it sounded great - very smooth and plenty of gain. My only issue was that for some reason I was always tweaking it to find the sweet spot, and it was just a little too compressed for my tastes. A great sounding pedal though.

Not sure if you meant to post the video or just the image Kebabkid ?

    Here's the video anyway...

    Duration 32:24

He makes pretty good amps too, I would love to own one, alongside my formidable Jester, which is a great pedal.

Some nice tones and some tasty playing with him and some session buddies known as RocketScience
(some is a bit kitsch, but then kitsch is in the eye/mind/ear of the... y'know what I mean)

I have had plenty of these over the years - jester, jouster, juggler, page & minstrel.

They're the best ODs on the market. They basically just sound like another channel on your amp.

I've moved them all on after a while, though. Not entirely sure why - suppose because i only use a bit of grit really and they're a bit OTT for that alone.

Simon's a good guy and a fantastic player

I've bought quite a few direct from Simon, and he's a good guy...

Sold em all though for some reason, even though they are stonking pedals (well mini amps).

dont be fooled by his awesome playing though !!! :)

The thing that struck me about that video was how brilliantly they clean up

Even though they were making a heavy marketing effort for Kingsley I didn't care as Simon is just such a phenomenal player. But then I've gone on their website and watched him demo his products just to listen to him play...

It's a bit of a sales piece, but really what do you expect from two guys who own pedal companies.

Great playing and the pedals really sell themselves.

I love Simon's playing and the Harlot sounds very good. The prices are a bit eye watering though

Love the show, but I struggled to sit though another 30 mins of overdrives.

    His playing sure helped though!

  • I agree that I prefer when they take an effect type, such as Delay and offer advice and ideas, but I can see the merit in this type of video, I try to extract the knowledge even tho I'm prob not going to buy the exact pedal they demo, I'll defo be looking at running drives together to get my tones.
when is the @ThorpyFX episode coming out??

great value for what they are IMO. Admittedly the new £-$ rate hasn't helped
