Specsavers trademark entire English language

Well, not really, but they have just trademarked 'should've' and 'shouldve'' meaning that no-one else can use either phrase in their marketing.

But only relating to beer, whereas Specsavers seem to be trying to trademark the use of "should've" on any printed matter.

Heard a copyright lawyer interviewed on the radio about this earlier. She seems to think it's possible.

'Bins' is short for 'binoculars'. A common form of address for speckies when I was in the playground.

'Bin lids' is rhyming slang for kids.
