Hi chaps

A bit of a plea - if you have a guitar that is:

a. Old and looks it (as in really old,  rather than re-issue old)

b. Boutique and jaw-dropping,

  c. Home builds, or

  d. Bat Shit Crazy

..and you fancy seeing it immortalised in, perhaps, the oddest guitar magazine ever, give me a shout

    a) Hofner President. One of the early ones from about 1956/7
    b) not my style
    c) Partscaster built from a builders plank I found in a skip.
    d) Starcaster, well made in the shape of a star anyway.

    Happy to photograph it some more as the pictures are actually @impmann 's

    It used to belong to Matt Deighton, he is currently in The Family Silver
    The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

    I'd happily have my Tele in. It's in the (c) homebuild category.

    I can lay my hands on a battered late 30's Harmony/Regal type acoustic. It belonged to my wife's Grandad, and it went round the world with him when he was in the navy.

    I can't believe I didn't think to ask everybody to send me their boutique and vintage guitars, but no, it was just the fotos I was thinking of :)

    @DanR - That would be awesome - thanks :)

    @hobbio - That would be many kinds of awesome. PMs incoming chaps, thank you. At this rate I won't need to write anything ;)

    Obviously these (and the rest of my Kawai collection) are in no way "batshit crazy"

    These 3 chronicle the development of my "talents" courtesy of Mark Bailey and his courses (with lots of in-build pics!);

    I have a stonking late 40s Kay archtop with a DeArmond goil foil pickup. It's the most beautiful looking instrument I've ever owned... Currently away back in 10 days, so pics to follow

    Might be a better idea - I only have a humble iphone 6 to take them with! :O

    @jookychap - No trouble at all, and will happily send it down for a bit if you want more gear for hands-on demos etc at some point. I'll take it out and about tomorrow though and see if I can find an interesting place for shots in/around London :)
