anyone make their pedal switches more barefoot friendly?

First world problem if ever there was one...

I play barefoot and I'm a delicate flower, so I wonder if there was anything people pop onto their pedal switches to make them a bit more bare foot friendly?

I could buy a barfoot button... http://barefootbuttons.com/

But I'm a tight arse and I wondered if there was a 59p rubber washer that does the job as well?

Inspired by tonight's Bake Off - an upside down Jaffa cake would be a budget alternative to that barefoot button.

Grow some great rough callouses on your soles.
    Verrucas might help as well.

Don't be such a soppy hipster if you're going sans shoes? What happens if you stub your toe on a plectrum :D

Wow. So that's a thing, is it?

I've always liked these mushroom-like switches Lehle use. There are also some vandal-proof switches that would be great if they weren't so expensive.

Chantelle Mcgregor plays barefoot and she doesn't seem to take any measures to make the pushbuttons more foot friendly.
I have a phobia about playing electric guitars barefoot which comes from watching a 70's episode of Ironside where a guitarist known for playing barefoot was murdered by someone tampering with his WahWah. Lol
    Don't touch that dial.

If you have access to a wood turning lathe or have a friend who has, it should be easy enough to turn a few copies of the barefootbuttons

Agreed. For one thing in the places we play your feet would stick to the floor...

Yes, there is a safety aspect. Not nearly so bad as it was, gear is better and EVRYONE runs an RCB DON'T THEY?!! Still, electrical safety, like firearms safety, is built on "layers" going barefoot removes one layer.

Mind you, when I was in my early teens I had to do "gym" in bare feet (bit of a story) and became quite used to it and found I could go just about anywhere unshod.

Still a daft idea around electricals mind!

    Dave.

  • Either the silly price milled items you can get or a cheaper alternative is.

Bottle lid of a coke bottle, fill it with Sugra (https://sugru.com/about), pop onto the top of your switch. Leave it for at least 12 hours, then you have a nice hard topped wider button you can pop on or off at any time.

Then stick gaffa tape on your feet for safety
