  • That makes me sad and I'm not sure why. I love Metallica and Peter Green. I just doesn'tm seem 'right' whatever that is.

A bunch of tw@s.  Lars being the biggest of them all.

    UTTER TW@.

To think, how great they once were and how much I loved them. This is embarrassing. The lyrics are worse than Spinal Tap.

    Great vibrato at 7:15 though.

I think it's brilliant that he owns it. I can't think of anyone I'd rather see with it - the natural tone of it actually suits that odd nasal sound he likes, and it's being used not stuck in a glass case or a bank vault. And most importantly it really pisses off the blues snobs :).

Hopefully that cursed guitar will either send him insane or cause a massive heart attack whilst banging a German bird half his age.

I like KH - I don't like his playing but he knows what he has and he's using that guitar rather than it being sitting in a vault with some collector's other guitars.

Well he obviously formatted the Les Paul and erased all the good notes that Peter Green and Gary Moore programmed into it ;)

I agree with @ICBMit's great to see it being used and its long history being added to

If you FF to 22:22 on this there's story about how its headstock was snapped off:

He owns it, he bought it, he's using it. It's doing exactly what a guitar is made for, being played. Lars has always been a knob so nothing new there, Kirks using a wah, nothing new there either. Roll on the album so we can slate it or rate it

They're making music and having fun. So can't really see any problem with it. Good luck to them.

Just watched it again on my proper computer with big speakers…

That guitar sounds *amazing*. I think I would have recognised it just from the sound at 6'35", before you even seen what it is - it's a real "now you have my full attention" monent. It just sounds so much better than all the other ones it's funny.

Tone is not *just* in the hands. It's a magical thing, the Peter Green/Gary Moore/Kirk Hammett Les Paul :).

  • I've had a couple of hours with that guitar... it's got a life of it's own.

True - even erstwhile plant-hire specialist Phil Harris got a reasonable sound out of it when he played it at the North West Guitar Show a couple of years ago.

Believe me - he was no Peter Green....
